Swashbuckler's Tutorial - Building your Swash

Building your swashbuckler depending the choice your make

When it comes to building a swash, and as you can guess after this whole tutorial, you will have three options, Cast, Crit, Hybrid.
The only things that will be different between all three Swashs, are :

- The weapons
- The Gloves & The Boots
- The Uniques

Cast Swash - Gear & Skill Build

The stats you need to look after depending on the item:

Cap: Skillblock / Critical Hit Resistance / Elemental resistance (20%+ as a minimum) / Dimensional Attacks / All stats ; Optional but good: Elemental Attack dmgs

Top: Resistance (#1 Priority, not under 12%) & Skill Rank +2 / Skillblock & Critical Hit Resistance ; Optional but good if you got all the rest : Max HP% & Max Mana% / Heroic Defense

Gloves: Skill cast time decreased by (look for 20%+) & Dimensional resistance (look for 20%+). Any other start is a good option, but not any important for a cast swash.

Pants: Resistance (Top#1 Priority, Over 23%), Dodge %, Max Hp & or All Stats, Cooldown reduced % ; Optional but good if you have the rest: Max Mana / Defense

Boots: Block (18 to 20%) / Movement Speed (18 to 20%) / Any other stat is good but not a must

Weapons: Dimensional Damage / Skill Cooldown Time / Rank +1 ; Any other stat is good but optional

Uniques:
Early Game: Intel Shutas x2 -> Exc Okheros x2 (And Exc Feathered for buffing due to +2) / Intel Karkaen -> Excellent Faren
Mid Game: I would recommend using 1 Reaper ring + 1 Void Ring / Hestia Necklace
Late Game: Switching between 2x Reaper Rings & 2x Void rings / Keep Hestia and put a Protection Cloak inside it.

Keep in mind this skillbuild is just an example. Also, it is meant for lvl 150 Swashbuckler.
I would never pretend those builds to be the best. They are, but in my opinion.

Crit Swash - Gear & Skill Build

The stats you need to look after depending on the item:

Top: Resistance (#1 Priority, not under 12%) & Skill Rank +2 / Skillblock & Critical Hit Resistance ; Optional but good if you got all the rest : Max HP% & Max Mana% / Heroic Defense

Gloves: Attack speed % (around 15% is fine) / Ignore defense (closest to 30%) / Critical hit strike (Closest to 20%) / Dimensional Resistance (Closest to 25%)

Pants: Resistance (Top#1 Priority, Over 23%), Dodge %, Max Hp & or All Stats, Cooldown reduced % ; Optional but good if you have the rest: Max Mana / Defense

Boots: Block (18 to 20%) / Movement Speed (18 to 20%) / Stun % Chance (this is the one you need as Crit but not cast)

Weapons: Damage / % Chance to strike your target for x% Damage / Ignore Defense / Rank +1

Uniques:
Early Game: Glorious Shutas x2 -> Glorious Feathered (some Exc Feathered for buffing due to +2) / Excellent Karkaen -> Glorious Faren
Mid Game/Late Game: Eidolon Rings x2 & Fearless Necklace

Keep in mind this skillbuild is just an example. Also, it is meant for lvl 150 Swashbuckler.
I would never pretend those builds to be the best. They are, but in my opinion.

Hybrid Swash - Gear & Skill Build

When it comes to hybrid swash, and to have a fully optimized swash, you need to have all the cast & crit stuff (for the uniques especially). It’s easier to have 2 weapon sets / 2 pairs of gloves than having perfect stats weapons.

Cap: Skillblock / Critical Hit Resistance / Elemental resistance (20%+ as a minimum) / Dimensional Attacks / All stats ; Optional but good: Elemental Attack dmgs

Top: Resistance (#1 Priority, not under 12%) & Skill Rank +2 / Skillblock & Critical Hit Resistance ; Optional but good if you got all the rest : Max HP% & Max Mana% / Heroic Defense

Leveling a Swash : All you need to know

Leveling a swash is not as easy as some other classes for several reasons.
First and foremost, the mana issues make it hard to maintain the mana flow while lvling if an orc sorcerer isn’t next to you.

Then, as you do not have resistance or elemental resistance debuffs, you lack damage against monsters (that’s why the use of debuffers is important).

It also makes swashbuckler class a not-so-viable option for the farming part. Whether Eclipse, Ancient tomb or any other content. It is possible to farm as a Swashbuckler, but not as fast/easy as other classes that have more adapted PVE debuffs.
