In order to have a better community this type of offense MUSN'T be allowed under any circunstances.
And I have been told that this racist commentary (on nickname) deserves a ban. He has been using this nickname for about 2 weeks.

Where is the insult exactly ?
Just wondering

I understand you know nothing about spanish language and that's why you use google translator to make a literal translation, + that he is a member of your guild.
"Indios" is a pejorative word, is an insult related to latinamerican people at all regions. Mixing race and economic class as well
And of course it's obviously a racist offence! So please tell your guild's member to change that "subnick".
ANY ACT OF RACISM IS ALLOWED IN THIS OR ANY OTHER VIDEO GAME.

Please post a source where is written that is a offensive phrase.

''Please post a source where is written that is a offensive phrase"
He explained it, a simple google: https://forum.wordreference.com/threads/indio-has-a-derogatory-meaning-in-mexico-california.120414/
"Indio" means Indian, as in Native American. The more politically correct word in Spanish is indÃgena, but indio is also used, just like Indian in English.
For many Mexicans, "indio" is a racist/classist insult. Indigenous peoples in Mexico are generally at the bottom of the economic and social ladder, and native people generally have darker skin than people with European and mixed ancestry. So for many people, to call someone "indio" is to say that they are dirty, uneducated, poor, dark-skinned... in short, undesirable.
So yes, it can be derogatory. Depending on context, it could even carry the same weight as the "N" word in English , IMO.
Imo its like ''yellow squinter''
You can't show me a source where is written that is a offensive phrase , yet we all know ;)
Also since he is in your guild, ask him then what he means by it. Looking forward to his explanation.

'' Native peoples
Indios were defined as the native indigenous peoples in all the Spanish American and Asian possessions. During the Spanish colonial period in the Mariana Islands (17th through 19th centuries) the CHamoru people were classified as indios. In the Spanish racial hierarchy, indios were the lowest-ranked group. The order was peninsulares, criollos, mestizos, Filipinos and indios.''

Blatantly racist, iguess not. But enough to make someone make a post about it.
Just ask him to change it it's no big deal to change a sog

if you want rely on informations from random forum people then post this too: https://www.reddit.com/r/asklatinamerica/comments/a41zk8/is_calling_someone_an_indio_offensive/
you can see many disagree that is offensive
also if he is Indio too then he can have that signature :) because of "only a ni@@er can call other ni@@er a ni@@er" rule :)

Good one, didn't see that one, yet there are some that also say it depends on the use etc.
Admin asked for proof where it was used as offensive tho, so I looked for that to help OP.
Perhaps might depend on regions like a lot of ''offensive'' words.
i don't see the added value of having that sog.

i think its OK, if some player watch a bit more carefully on those matter,
but we should not screw world wide meanings, with regional meanings.
At portugese regions, Indio isnt a bad word, meanwhile at some spanish regions, it gets used as an insult.
I think there are more worse cases around, than this.
I hope i did not offended someone now.
stay safe

maybe just worth to ask author for explanation?

As I have told. Many of you (european or asian ppl) don't understand these words because they are very locative. I understand that you may disagree with this because you have read it on some forum or listen to it somehow. But you have to be so "innocent" to read "INDIOS Latinos" as a simple expression.
In most of latinamericans countries that is a racist insult, ppl who dont live in this continent can barely understand what we are talking about. It's simple as that.
I wouldn't waste my time posting something that it could be misunderstood by many people. So again, this type of insult musn't be tolerated by any means.
So, me and many latinamerican people want to understand that, in this game any type of racism isn't allowed.

I mean author of signature :D
He has right to explain what his signature means when is double meaning :)
In topic: What if I put signature "rice eater"? Will I get a ban for that?
